Further, its moisturizing properties prevent split ends and brittle hair. Sesame oil’s rich antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and proteins prevent premature greying by preserving melanin function.  These same properties hydrate, nourish and condition the scalp as well as the hair.  Sesame oil has also proven to provide protection to the scalp and hair by creating a barrier of protection during extended sun exposure. Sesame oil’s soothing properties enable it to as a coolant.  Normally the heat and sun can dry out the moisture from the hair and scalp damaging the follicles, but sesame oil’s protective barrier helps retain the moisture.
